Belgrade to Zlatibor by Car: A Practical Rental Guide
Zlatibor is a popular mountain destination for a weekend or longer break. Driving from Belgrade gives you flexibility to stop on the route and visit locations beyond the resort centre.
Prepare the route
Use live navigation because the preferred route can change with roadworks and traffic. Parts of the journey may use tolled motorway sections. Check current rates with Roads of Serbia and ask whether the rental car has TAG.
Mountain weather can differ from Belgrade. Check conditions before departure and avoid an overfilled schedule in rain, fog or snow.
Choose the vehicle
A comfort car is sufficient for normal paved routes. An SUV provides extra space and a higher seating position but does not permit off-road driving. In winter, confirm tyres and required equipment before departure.
Plan the stay
The National Tourism Organisation of Serbia highlights Zlatibor’s walking and cycling routes, Stopića Cave, Gostilje waterfall and Sirogojno. Check opening times locally and do not leave valuables visible in the car. See the official Zlatibor guide.
Confirm mileage, fuel, return time and any overnight parking at the accommodation.
